The life-insurance name and the emergency form are not the same file.

• SOES in milConnect updates SGLI.
• The DD Form 93 names who to notify, the PADD for remains, and next of kin.
• Changing one does not change the other.

• Beneficiary for unpaid pay and allowances. That is not the SGLI payout.

• Marriage, divorce, and a baby are reasons to open it the same month.
• Other services use their own personnel system. Do not send a Marine to IPPS-A.
• The 1SG does not type a Soldier’s next of kin in formation.
