Active duty

You just came on Title 10. These enrollments do not wait.

Prime matches the duty station. DEERS first. Teeth, TSP, SGLI, and the home-loan COE are four more doors — not one BWE click.

Not TRS. Not AGR. Those are different cards.

Full-time Guard or Reserve. You are not TRS anymore.

DEERS has to read active duty. Then Prime or Prime Remote. Family dental flipped to the active-duty TDP story. FSAFEDS is a new cash register.

Do not buy TRICARE Reserve Select while you are AGR.

Reserve

Federal Selected Reserve. Everything is a purchase except the roster.

USAR and the other federal reserve components. DEERS, then TRS, then TDP. Vision is BENEFEDS. Chapter 1606 is a different pot from Post-9/11. Forty-nine points is a lost year.

National Guard is the other card. AGR and Title 10 active duty do not buy TRS.

National Guard

Army or Air National Guard. Name the statute before you enroll.

Title 32, Title 10, or State Active Duty. Traditional drill buys TRS. Dual-status technicians sit on FEHB. State school money is not Chapter 1606. The COE has a Guard-only Title 32 path.

Federal Reserve is the other card. AGR / FTNGD do not buy TRS. State Active Duty is not TRICARE.

Already out. VA.gov is the cash register now.

Login.gov, then 10-10EZ, then the claim if you have one. GI Bill, the COE, VALife, and travel pay do not ride along automatically.

A mill that wants a cut of back pay is optional and not required.

Retired pay started. This is not gray area.

You have 90 days to reenroll Prime or Select or you drop to space-available. SBP is an election, not a rumor. TFL still waits for Medicare Part B at 65.

Gray-area TRR is the no-paycheck product. You are not that card anymore.

20-year letter. No paycheck yet. TRS is over.

TRR is the premium medical plan until retired pay. RC-SBP is 90 days from the 20-year letter. Apply for the paycheck — it does not start itself. FEDVIP dental lives here. TFL is still 65.
