Military OneSource lists financial counseling as free for service members and eligible family. Twenty-four hours. Phone, video, or in person. The door is their .mil page. The number they print is 800-342-9647. Call it and ask for financial counseling. Overseas? Use the international calling page they publish — not a random 800 from a group chat.

They also run a live chat. The address they print is militaryonesource.com/milone-support. That one is .com. Type it. Do not follow a shortened link in a Facebook ad. The benefit page you recut from is still .mil.

Who it is for. Who it is not.

Their millife financial-management guide: active duty, Guard, and Reserve — regardless of activation — plus families in the continental U.S. Their eligibility guide is broader: Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, Coast Guard; Guard and Reserve whether you are on orders or not; immediate family; surviving spouses who have not remarried; surviving children. Recently retired or separated keep the stack for 365 days past the date. After that window they point you at VA.gov.

You have to go through Military OneSource for the sessions to stay free. In person, they arrange the community consultant. Walking into a shop and mailing them the invoice is how you pay. A mill that already knows your LES is not OneSource.

What they cover. What they will not sell you.

Budget. Debt. Talking to creditors. College savings. Retirement education. They walk pluses and minuses. They do not pick a product for you to buy. Their millife guide still lists up to 12 sessions per issue, per calendar year, per person. Confirm the live number on militaryonesource.mil before you argue with anyone who says you already used it.

Installation Personal Financial Management and Military and Family Life Counseling are other official doors. Find the local office on installations.militaryonesource.mil. The millife guide also names the National Foundation for Credit Counseling as a civilian referral. A long-term debt-management plan with them may carry a monthly fee. That fee is not OneSource. Confirm it before you sign.
