How to sign up for CHAMPVA (family health)
If the sponsor still has TRICARE, the family is usually on TRICARE. CHAMPVA is a different door for certain survivors and families of veterans who are permanently and totally disabled.

Still TRICARE-eligible? milConnect. Not eligible, and the veteran meets the VA test? Read CHAMPVA.

CHAMPVA is not TRICARE. If the sponsor still has a Defense Health plan, the family is usually on DEERS and milConnect. CHAMPVA is a VA product for certain spouses, children, and survivors. Eligibility lives on VA.gov. The form is 10-10d. No fee. Do not mash the two programs because a commercial site put them in the same headline.
