CRSC and CRDP are not the same check

Both put money back next to VA disability and retired pay. You do not receive both at the same time. CRDP is usually automatic. CRSC is a service application, and it is tax-free.

  1. 01

    CRDP is concurrent receipt

DFAS explains CRDP on its own page. It is for retirees whose VA rating and retired-pay rules qualify. You do not file a combat packet for it. Confirm the percentage rule on that page before you assume a 10% rating opens it.

  2. 02

    CRSC is the combat-related door

Military retirees entitled to retired pay, with a VA rating of at least 10%, for disabilities from armed conflict, hazardous duty, an instrumentality of war, or simulated war. You file the application with your branch of service. DFAS pays it. It is tax-free.

  3. 03

Pick one. A mill does not pick it for you.

The same DFAS page: you do not receive CRSC and CRDP at the same time. If you might qualify for both, read both pages and ask DFAS which check is yours. Do not pay a company to “unlock” concurrent receipt.
