Enroll in FEDVIP vision on BENEFEDS
Routine glasses and contacts are not a TRICARE default. FEDVIP vision is a separate purchase on BENEFEDS.gov — Login.gov, eligibility questions, then Self / Self+One / Family.

Confirm you are actually eligible
Selected Reserve and National Guard members enrolled in a TRICARE health plan (including TRICARE Reserve Select) can buy FEDVIP vision — not FEDVIP dental. Active-duty members are not eligible; their families may be if they are on TRICARE. Retirees and gray-area Reservists can buy dental, and vision if they are on a TRICARE plan.

Open BENEFEDS.gov — not milConnect
Type benefeds.gov yourself. This is an OPM portal. It is not TRICARE.mil and it is not milConnect. Bookmark it. Ignore ads.

Create My BENEFEDS with Login.gov
Sign in or create the account through Login.gov. Use a personal email you will still have in ten years. Finish identity proofing before you fight the enrollment form.

Verify eligibility, then enroll vision
Answer the uniformed-service questions on the dashboard. Do not tap federal-employee dental if you are not a fed. Choose vision, then Self, Self + One, or Self & Family. Confirm how the premium comes out.
