Transfer Post-9/11 GI Bill in milConnect (TEB)
Transfer of Education Benefits is a sponsor election with a service obligation. milConnect, not VA.gov. The spouse cannot click it for you. Recut from milConnect. I will not file it.

Confirm you even have Chapter 33 to transfer
Transfer is for Post-9/11 GI Bill, with service rules. Montgomery 1606 is a different pot and does not transfer the same way. Run VA’s Comparison Tool first so you know what you are giving away.

Open milConnect → Transfer of Education Benefits
The dependent has to be in DEERS. You elect months to the spouse and/or kids and accept the additional service obligation. Your service personnel shop still has to approve it. VA.gov is where the dependent later files 22-1990e — not where you transfer.

Do not wait until you are on terminal leave
The obligation has to be served. A transfer approved the week you ETS is how families get a denial letter. Recut from milConnect help and your service education office.
