On orders of 30 days or less, an injury, illness, or disease incurred or aggravated in the line of duty can be treated at government expense. Family is not on LOD. Recut from TRICARE.mil. I will not file the LOD.

LOD is not TRS and not Prime
Recut from TRICARE.mil: you may qualify for line of duty care if you incur or aggravate an injury, illness, or disease while on a period of orders 30 days or less. That includes active duty training, inactive duty training, a drill weekend, and other training on those orders. It also includes travel directly to or from the place of duty, and overnight stays in support of the orders.

Get the LOD / Notice of Eligibility on paper
An approved LOD / Notice of Eligibility is how follow-on care is paid after the orders expire. Your unit starts it. TRICARE does not invent the determination. Family members do not qualify for line of duty care — they need TRS, or the sponsor on active-duty TRICARE, or TAMP.

Keep TRS if you already bought it
LOD is the injury on short orders. It is not family medical, not dental, and not a reason to cancel TRS. Pharmacy on TRS still needs the TRS enrollment. Recut from TRICARE.mil When Inactive.
