Enroll AGR TRICARE (Prime / Prime Remote)

AGR and FTNGD sit on active-duty TRICARE — not TRICARE Reserve Select. Confirm DEERS says active duty, use the Plan Finder, then enroll Prime or Prime Remote in milConnect. Zero premium for you. I will not file it.

1. 01

   Confirm you are actually AGR — not drilling

   Active Guard Reserve, Full-Time National Guard Duty, and other full-time Guard/Reserve tours are treated as active duty. Weekend drill and most AT are not. If you are Selected Reserve only, this walkthrough is the wrong door — buy TRS instead.

2. 02

   Fix DEERS before you touch Beneficiary Web Enrollment

   Open milConnect. Your status has to read active duty. If it still says Selected Reserve, BWE will offer TRS — the wrong cash register. S-1 / personnel posts the orders. DEERS / DMDC: 800-538-9552. Do not enroll anything until the roster is right.

   Run the Plan Finder on your ZIP

   TRICARE pages almost never print the letters AGR. They say active duty. Prime Service Area (near a military hospital or clinic) → TRICARE Prime. Designated remote, and you live AND work there → TRICARE Prime Remote. Anything else → call the regional contractor before you guess. East (Humana) 800-444-5445. West (TriWest) 888-874-9378.

   Enroll in milConnect → Benefits → Beneficiary Web Enrollment

   Sign in with CAC, DS Logon, or Login.gov. Open Benefits, then Beneficiary Web Enrollment. Enroll TRICARE Prime (or TPR if that is the plan). Pick a primary care manager if the form offers one — if you skip it, they assign one. Active-duty sponsors pay no enrollment fee and no premium. Coverage is not a vibe. Submit the form.

5. 05

   If BWE will not take Prime Remote, use the contractor

   Prime is usually online. TPR is often phone or mail if BWE fights you. East and West enrollment forms live on TRICARE.mil. Once it processes, go back to milConnect, download the enrollment card, and write down the PCM name and phone.

6. 06

   Family is DEERS first, then a 90-day clock

   Marriage or birth certificate at RAPIDS / personnel. milConnect lies until the name is on the roster. Active-duty family members are usually auto-enrolled in Prime (PSA) or Select (not PSA). You have 90 days from that auto-enrollment to change the plan. Their teeth are the TRICARE Dental Program as an active-duty family — not the drilling TDP story, and not FEDVIP dental.

7. 07

   Your teeth are not TDP

   Sponsor dental is the military clinic or the Active Duty Dental Program. Family buys TDP. Two products. Pharmacy rides with TRICARE — you do not enroll it separately. FSAFEDS health-care FSA is open to AGR during Open Season on fsafeds.gov, not milConnect.
