Enroll in TRICARE Reserve Select
Selected Reserve healthcare is not automatic. You buy TRICARE Reserve Select in milConnect through Beneficiary Web Enrollment — CAC, DS Logon, or Login.gov.

Confirm you actually qualify
You must be in the Selected Reserve of the Ready Reserve (Army National Guard, Army Reserve, Navy Reserve, Marine Corps Reserve, Air National Guard, Air Force Reserve, Coast Guard Reserve, or Space Force). Recut from TRICARE.mil: you do not qualify on active-duty orders for more than 30 days, under TAMP, in the IRR (including Navy Reserve Voluntary Training Units), Retired Reserve, or as a federal employee eligible for FEHB. That FEHB lockout is written through 1 January 2030.

Open milConnect
Go to the official milConnect portal. This is the door. Bookmark it. Do not follow a paid ad or a random Facebook post that looks like TRICARE.

Sign in
Use a Common Access Card (CAC), a DS Logon, or Login.gov. If you do not have a CAC reader at home, Login.gov is the path that will still work after DS Logon is gone.

Benefits → Beneficiary Web Enrollment
On the dashboard, open the Benefits tab and select Beneficiary Web Enrollment (BWE). Choose your profile — or a family member's profile if you are managing dependents.

Purchase TRICARE Reserve Select
Select member-only or member-and-family coverage. Review eligibility, set the initial payment (EFT or monthly allotment), and submit. Coverage is not a wish — it is an enrollment you have to finish.
