Apply for the VA family caregiver program
Program of Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers. VA Form 10-10CG, filed with the veteran. Stipend, training, sometimes CHAMPVA. The veteran must be in VA health first. Recut from VA.gov. I will not file it.

The veteran enrolls in VA health first
10-10EZ before 10-10CG. Eligibility rules live on VA.gov — rating, need for personal-care services, and service era. Recut from their page. Do not pay a mill to ‘get the stipend.’

File 10-10CG together
Online on VA.gov, by mail, or in person. Both the veteran and the caregiver sign. Caregiver Support Line 1-855-260-3274. A home visit and clinical assessment follow.

CHAMPVA for some caregivers
If you do not already have qualifying health coverage, PCAFC can open CHAMPVA. That is not TRICARE. Confirm on the CHAMPVA page after the caregiver decision.
