The VA loan is not a one-and-done.
The guaranty can be used again if you still have entitlement. A Facebook realtor is not the door. The COE is.

Entitlement is a VA number, not a rumor
VA published a reminder this month: a VA-guaranteed home loan is not a single-use coupon. If you paid one off, or you still have remaining entitlement, you can often use the benefit again. The test is the Certificate of Eligibility on VA.gov — not a billboard that says “VA specialist.”
Same week, VA warned about misleading homebuying ads. Type the URL yourself. A cold call that already knows your rating is a red flag, not a benefit.
Funding fee is a different conversation
Many veterans with qualifying disability compensation do not pay the VA funding fee. If you paid one and later received a rating that should have waived it, VA has a refund path. That is a VA.gov housing question, not a third-party “we get your money back” shop.
The COE is the federal housing benefit. Homeowners, wind, and flood are civilian policies you still shop. I do not sell insurance.
How to sign up
01
Request the COE on VA.gov
Login.gov or ID.me. https://www.va.gov/housing-assistance/home-loans/how-to-request-coe/
02
Take it to a VA-approved lender
The COE is not a pre-approval and not a homeowners quote.
03
Read the funding fee rules
https://www.va.gov/housing-assistance/home-loans/funding-fee-and-closing-costs/ — refunds go through VA.
Written from VA.gov request a COE. Always confirm on the official page before you enroll.
