Veterans · Enrollment
VALife is not VGLI. Pay.gov is the cash register.
Service-disabled veterans can apply for VALife online. It is a different product from the SGLI conversion clock. Premiums go through Pay.gov.

Two life-insurance doors
VGLI is the conversion from SGLI when you leave service — 240 days with no health questions, then 1 year + 120 with underwriting. VALife is a separate guaranteed-acceptance policy for many veterans with service-connected disability. You apply on VA.gov. You do not convert SGLI into VALife by accident.
VBA’s own walkthrough: enroll online, then pay premiums on Pay.gov. That is the official payment site for a lot of federal bills. Bookmark it. A look-alike invoice in email is still a look-alike.
Getting-out vs already-out
Still converting SGLI? Run the VGLI clock first. Already a veteran with a rating and no VGLI? Read the VALife page before you buy a random whole-life pitch. I am not an insurance agent. The .gov page is the eligibility test.
